Transterritorial Spirituality
Angela Mictlanxochitl recently completed her doctorate at the California Institute of Integral Studies, with her thesis project “Testimonio and Knowledge Production Among Transterritorial Mexican and Mexican American Indigenous Spiritual Practitioners: A Decolonial, Participatory, and Grassroots Postmodernist Inquiry.” In this conversation, we touch on the power of reclaiming our ancestral knowledge, how to be a guest in sacred spaces, the beauty, and fluidity of building relationships with people and land, and how “there’s not one single way to be” who we are.
Winter Adventures
As a professional athlete Dani Reyes-Acosta is a powerhouse of knowledge when it comes to responsible outdoor recreation. In this conversation, she shared tons of beginner-friendly knowledge on how to get started hiking, camping, and backcountry adventuring specifically during the snowy months - with gear reccos included. We also talked about @leavenotracecenter @ski_kind and @recreate.responsibly - plus she shared with us some great tips about getting over our fears of trying something new, and managing discrimination on the trail. Take a dive into the ins and outs of snow fun, and follow Dani for recurring doses of joy, reflections, and opportunities to take action for the betterment of this world.
Spiritual Sustainability
In this conversation with energy worker, plant guru, author, artist, and environmental educator Rachael Cohen, we talk about spiritual appropriation, the need for sustainability practices in the tools utilized by the spiritual community, and safe and sustainable ways of utilizing essential oils. Last but not least, Rachael leaves us with her thoughts on how and why the sustainability movement can use some principles from spirituality.
